Self-described cold punk act Lié, out of Vancouver, British Columbia, crafts a ferocious musical attack that’s equally influenced by early cold wave and post punk, like Malaria and Wipers, as by heavier bands such as Shellac and Brainbombs. The band’s unique sound, which has acquired comparisons to its male brethren as much as its female counterparts, includes mentions from Black Flag, whom had them open its Vancouver reunion show, as well as Canadian legend Nardwuar.
Following the release of two EPs and nonstop touring of the U.S
. and Europe, Consent, Lié's first full length, features some of the band’s heaviest material to date, especially on tunes such as the dour “Sorry” and the brutal beat down that is “Saved.” Watch a video of “Casual Embrace,” the first single from Consent, at vimeo.com/88804131
Kati, Ashlee, and Brittany of Lié are already hard at work on the band’s follow-up album and have a tour planned for the American South in December 2014 as well as an extensive tour in spring 2015.
